AHA Society Board Visit to St. Kitts and Nevis, May 2013
Mariana Oller and Dr. Tom Oller, Chair and Vice Chair of The AHA Society, visited St. Kitts and Nevis, the homeland of Alexander Hamilton, from May 13-20, 2013. They were joined by John Herzog, Founder of the Museum of American Finance, and his wife Mrs. Diana Herzog.
In addition to touring the historic locales of both islands, The AHA Society Board attended several events in honor of their visit, including a reception inside the Alexander Hamilton Museum with the Premier of Nevis, the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, and other local dignitaries attending.

The Ollers and the Herzogs were taken on a tour of the island of St. Kitts led by Mr. Dele Adams, Tourism Host, and Mr. Winston Johnson, of Kantours, St. Kitts.
Locations our board visited on St. Kitts include the Wingfield Estate, former estate of Samuel Jefferson (ancestor of US founding father Thomas Jefferson); Romney Manor; Bloody Point; and the Brimstone Hill Fortress.
Additionally, Mr. Herzog spoke to students at a special engagement at the University of West Indies.
The Ollers and the Herzogs enjoyed a full visit to Nevis, the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Their stay was filled with events and a tour around Nevis.
This album includes The AHA Society Board's visit to Hermitage Plantation Inn, Golden Rock Inn, Nisbet Plantation, Nevisian Heritage Village, and a visit to meet the Premier of Nevis at the Premier's Ministry.
The two couples also attended a special dinner at the Hermitage Plantation Inn hosted by The Hon. Mark Brantley, Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism of Nevis, and Mrs. Brantley.
The Ollers and the Herzogs started their tour of Nevis by visiting the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.
Ms. Evelyn Henville, Executive Director of Nevis Historical and Conservation Society (NHCS) led the four on a tour of the Museum of Nevis History, the Alexander Hamilton exhibit at the former Trott House (currently Nevis Heritage Centre), and the 2nd floor of the Museum building, which serves as the meeting room for the Nevis House of Assembly.
The following day, the Ollers and the Herzogs were interviewed by host Abdul Karim Ahmed for the TV program "In Focus." Later that evening, a reception at the Alexander Hamilton Museum was held in honor of the Herzogs and the Ollers. After the reception, Mrs. Herzog, Mrs. Oller, and honor students unveiled commemorative plaques at the gates to the Museum. A cocktail reception and entertainment followed.
